                           mARYLEBONE FLAT

This well appointed gentleman's London pad is in central Marlebone and has 1 main bedroom with en-suite, a bathroom, open plan lounge/kitchen/diner and a slightly difficult, narrow room connected to the hall and also the open plan area via sliding doors. It makes an ideal study, but the owner needed to sleep guests from time to time. Our solution was to install a clever Murphy wall bed system from Clei Italy, which opens sideways, as there was not space to open a standard one from head to foot.  We also added a folding headboard, lights and a slim set of open and closed shelves. The bed is king size and strong and comfortable. Most ingeniously, the desk, attached to the closed bed face, tucks underneath when it's open, but swivels so that slim things on its surface, like paperwork or a laptop can stay in place and not slide off!
he flat's owner is a fan of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and various 1960s and 70's music especially, and there was a gently 60's - 70s theme going on through the interior design of the flat.
The exposed brick wall, kitchen and bathrooms were already done.  I finally got to use Kartell's AI chairs which were the 1st chairs designed by AI and are freakishly comfortable and cool! Also their co-ordinating console table was a good fit for the hall.
The gorgeous green leather sofa is by Stressless and reclines on all 3 sections. I designed the orange shelving unit and had it made by
Dot Bespoke.
I made the peep show table lamp from antique nautical ship's binnacle compass casing and some vintage magazines. I also made some of the hallway images and collages. The Stones album on the shelf, was beautifully embroidered by SeamstressForTheBand
