Not every project is actualised, for various reasons. The sale of this one fell through, unfortunately. As I rather love Art Deco styles, this one was close to my heart. It was built in Clevedon for a local artist in 1936
These are the drawings, Architect Will Falconer RIBA and I worked on and my furnishing and Interior design proposals, produced for a project to refurbish and extend a 1930's Art Deco house.
This house needed a full renovation as only the walls were in good condition. The clients are fans of Modernism and were most interested in good kitchen and utility spaces and the garden. We designed better uses of the spaces, whilst retaining and re-establishing Art Deco Features and style, combining that with Modernism and contemporary living. Will Falconer and I ended up working on a full house refurbishment of a more contemporary property with the same clients. That project, can be seen in my portfolio, called Clevedon Low Energy House.
