Having done various freelancing and short contracts in Interior Design and Events. Here are a few tasters of things I have worked on.....
Stephanie Dunning Interior Design - Stephanie is an experienced Interior Designer, who also used to be vice president at BIDA (British Interior Design Assoc). I worked for Stephanie for 6 weeks, freelancing. I mainly did CAD drawings, but some design and presentation work, aiming to work in her distinctive style. This CAD layout and Presentation for a flat in Lower Sloane Street is a good example. I also prepared CAD drawings for use in Joinery and Planning proposals.
Interior Classics - I was employed, on a short contract, to set up a new design office for this leader in the field of Interior Design for the Retirement Sector. This involved training junior staff, setting up digital and physical supplier, sourcing and sample libraries, as well as actual design work. I designed 4 entire schemes for retirement villages, built by Churchill and McCarthy & Stone. This involved planning, sourcing and budgeting for furnishing, finishes, window treatments, accessories and art for 2 showflats, guest suits, central lounges and hallways, within each development. Also presenting the ideas with design boards such as below...
Care Home Dining Room Project - Another Interior Designer, who had been offered a pitch for this project, hired me to do the actual work, which won her the business, as she was not proficient in CAD design or professional presentation. The Fairways Care Home is in Chippenham. I met with the client, did the space planning and CAD drawings, mood boards and sourced the furnishing and finishes. I designed the banquette seating and reception desk bespoke and had them made by joiners and upholsterers.
Honest Entertainment - This busy Design and Build, Events company, hired me to assist with various projects they had on their table. This included collaborating with the client (Ministry of Sound) and a costume designer to work out the concept and provide dancers costumes for Hed Kandi Club, Ibiza as well as producing a concept file for the hair and make-up of the dancers. I also designed the initial concept for the VIP area of a V Festival 2014, which won the company the project.
Honest Entertainment - During the London 2012 Olympics, a major sponsor, Omega, took over a Soho house and turned it into a members club for the duration. They hired Honest Entertainment to design and supply the concept for the rooms, which were each in the style of the advertising for their major watches. I was pulled in at the last minute, to take over from the project manager in sourcing and ordering each element of the design, to achieve the project on time and on budget
