Pongo

Carved entirely from linden wood with joints made from leather and sash cord, with some elastication to neck and tail for fluid movement. He's a walkabout Marionette

Hares

The story of 4 Hares, 'Herr Hare' and his brothers 'Husband of the Golden Hare' 'Hurd-Wood's Hare' and 'Jack-a-lope', continues as they have all been found loving homes with other artists. All except Jack-a-lope who loiters in my kitchen, having transitioned from puppet to doll. 

Their short spines bend over forwards, but only a little backward, much like a real hare, which allows them a strong and supple movement of the torso, very useful for dancing and practicing yoga.

 The wonderful Jackie Morris, artist, writer and illustrator, met & loved 'Herr Hare' so much, she commissioned another like him, which I altered to look more like a character in one of her books 'The Golden Hare' This photo, of the one I made for her, hanging in her Pembrokeshire studio was in The Guardian >
